After the second assassination attempt on President Donald Trump in September in West Palm Beach, Florida, America First Legal launched several investigations seeking records and communications from the State Department, Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, and Department of Justice to identify shortcomings or failures in these federal agencies’ responsibilities to ensure President Trump’s safety after the federal agencies refused to comply with AFL’s informational requests.
Action:
America First Legal sued the State Department, Department of Defense, Department of Justice, and Department of Homeland Security for failing to produce responsive records.
